My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jasmine is a beautiful, gentle gal who loves, loves, LOVES cuddling and following us around everywhere -inside, outside, at our feet on the couch, cuddling in bed, etc..

She really likes car rides and will jump right in! She gets along fine with the other dogs and would enjoy a male companion. Her absolute favorite dog to play with is our basset hound! Next in line are our schauzer mix and the other pit bulls here. She walks pretty well on her leash and loves toys of all types - ropes, nylabones, squeaky toys - she really likes those, but they dont last long :) . She is great at unpacking a tightly stuffed and frozen Kong!

Jasmine is a real love and charms everyone that she comes in contact with, though her personal favorite folks seem to be young ladies. She knows how to "sit" and will race across the room into her crate if asked to "kennel up". She listens very well and really wants to please us.

We have had the pleasure of watching Jasmine really come out of her shell. Though she is only 2 years old, we are her 4th home. Her first 2 homes did not take good care of her and last home kept her chained to a tree for about 8 months. When we picked her up, I was petting her and the owners said that was the most attention she ever had. When she got to our home, she was reserved and didnt have much interest in doing much of anything. Little by little, she started putting her paws on our laps, then her whole body - now she runs around the yard, plays with the other dogs, and has become quite the hit at adoption events! Her change is incredible and she truely is one of the sweetest dogs we have had here.

Jasmine would love a home to continue her socialization with walks in the neighborhood, park, etc. She is extremely affectionate and loyal and will follow us around everywhere - inside, outside, at our feet on the couch, cuddling in bed, etc.

Jasmine is around 17 inches high and close to 35 lbs. She is a little thin and will probably add 5-10 lbs or so.

We prefer Jasmine to be in an area that does not have any breed specific legislation against "pit bulls" and are willing to meet or ship to the right family. Am. Staff's mature slowly (4 years old!) and may not get along with other dogs as an adult; therefore, Jasmine will be placed as the only dog, or with a male dog only if the adopter has previous experience owning a "pit bull" breed and another dog at the same time.

Take 2 Rescue does not support breed specific regulations, but it is required that the adopter be aware of and comply with any laws in their area for owning a "pit bull" breed. Pit Bull Terriers can be headstrong, therefore a home that will obediance train this gal, using positive reinforcement, is mandatory.
