My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Currently fostered in Portland, OR and ready for meet and greets!**

Are you looking for a young dog that is already potty trained, crate trained, and knows a few commands? Oh, and beautiful too? Well, look no further! Paws is a gorgeous white and black girl with the cutest little freckles on her ears. At just 9 months old, she is still young and very trainable, but already has a great foundation!

Paws is as sweet as they come. She can be a tad shy at first, but she will nuzzle into you and start giving you kisses and hugs in a matter of minutes. She absolutely adores small children and is very sweet and gentle with them. She doesn't jump up on them or knock them over, and she's not mouthy. She's just looking for play pals and cuddle buddies.

Paws has spent her whole life in a loving foster home with her mom and siblings, who have given her a great start in learning doggy manners. She has lived with older kids with special needs, and an adult in a wheelchair. She loves people of all ages and abilities. A cuddlebug through and through, she loves nothing more than to be with her humans and spend evenings cuddled up on the couch or in bed, watching TV.

Her intelligence is clear. Shes already potty trained, crate trained, and knows a repertoire of commands like Sit, Lay Down, Settle, No, Outside, and Night Night. She is treat motivated and a fast learner. Who doesnt want a pup thats already well trained?? Most of the hard work of training has already been done for you! The training potential is limitless with her. She has a great calm demeanor despite her young age.

Paws is a playful girl who loves playing with both her humans and her doggy friends. She really does well with other dogs. We have put her as unknown with cats because she was a bit too interested when we did a cat test, but she wasnt trying to harm him or anything. Shes just never seen a cat before. For this reason, its probably best we avoid placing her in a home with cats, but it's possible she could learn with proper training.

Paws has a few favorite pastimes, and at the top of the list is engaging in spirited play with squeaky toys. Her eyes are full of delight as she tosses and retrieves these cherished playthings. Treats are definitely the way to her heart. She can't resist the delicious combination of apples with peanut butter or the classic crunch of a milkbone.

Paws would do best in a home with a yard where she can frolic and play. She is not bad on a leash and doesnt pull too much, with some leash training she could become a total pro. She would be a great dog to take on neighborhood walks, hikes, or to a dog-friendly cafe. She is sweet to everyone she meets. She rides great in the car too!

In summary, Paws is more than a pet; she's a loving, loyal friend waiting to bring warmth and companionship to a home that appreciates her loving nature. If you're looking for a canine companion who knows the art of play, the joy of a good walk, and the comfort of a loving home, Paws might be the perfect match for you.

She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to travel to her new home in the PNW.

*WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health.
*To fully vet a dog in the PNW at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
