My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ori is a female German Shepherd estimated to be about 2 years old. She was found on the streets of Alice Texas on 12/22/23 by a good samaritan that had a big heart and noticed this pup needed help. Ori was visibly underweight (she is currently 58.6 lb and the vet said she is 10 lb underweight), she had cuts on her paws probably from walking so much, and was clearly lost and most likely dumped. All she wanted was to be with people and inside and safe.

The finder named her Ori and paid out of her own pocket for Ori to receive vaccines and deworming. The finder posted on Facebook looking for an owner or if anyone recognized her. A few neighbors said they had seen her roaming recently but no one knew where she belonged. No owner has come forward and the finder was unable to find a rescue or non kill shelter that could take her. The finder was unable to continue caring for Ori.

Ori is a very loving calm dog. She is also fully crate trained and knows basic commands. She is great in the car, is easy to bathe, clip nails, and loves to be brushed. She also loves to play with toys but isn't destructive and plays very gentle. She needs a bit of work with leash manners and jumping up on people but again is very gentle and easy to work with. She is a bit too playful with cats and can be standoffish when meeting new dogs but is playful and friendly when she's comfortable with dogs.

She is a great alert dog but doesn't bark all day at every noise. She has shown no aggression to any human but I have not tested her with children though I think she would love older kids. Ori loves to be with people and just be pet or play with her toys or lay nearby and nap. She is a very low maintenance dog and isn't very demanding and doesn't get separation anxiety. With proper training, love, and patience. I believe Ori would make a great dog for anyone.
