My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Duke! Duke is a Dachsador ... mix of Dachsund and Labrador retriever. These marvelous mutts are known for their loving personalities, intelligence, and contagious zest for life. Duke is playful, but is happy to cuddle up next to you as long as his exercise needs are met. DOB about 11/15/2023. He is up to date on shots, neutered and is looking for his forever home with you!

Go meet their pets

We would love for you to meet one of our rescue dogs! As we are a foster-based rescue, we don't have a facility. You can make an appointment with us to meet a dog in Tahlequah, OK area. Please email us at waymaker@waymakerrescue.org if interested in meeting a specific dog.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to rescue abandoned, abused, and neglected dogs and to facilitate needed services of food, spay/neuter, medical care, and temporary housing. We partner with local veterinarians and fosters to provide these needed services while we work to find permanent, caring homes for each dog. In addition, we create public awareness on the importance of spay/neuter, medical, and nutritional care for pets in our local community.
