My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hello, all! I am Azaria–Zari to my friends–a sophisticated 7 year old, 65 pound sable German Shepherd. Don’t let my age worry you! Because I am a grown-up lady, I have already mastered many things! I am house trained. I am crate trained. I walk well on a leash. I am ready to be your companion right now!

Because I am a grown-up lady, I know what I like. You want to go on a walk? Delightful! You want to go for a ride in the car? Wonderful! You want to take me on a hike? Fabulous! You want to sit on the couch with me while I nap? Heavenly! You want me to keep you company while you work? Superb! You want to introduce me to human friends of all sorts? Excellent! If you scratch my belly, provide me with squeaky toys, and give me treats, that would make my world complete.

As a grown-up I also know what I don’t like. I definitely don’t like to be around other animals, so if you already have a dog or a cat at home, I’m not the sophisticated lady for you. If we see dogs on our walks, I may get a little agitated, but if you redirect my attention and keep me moving, I will leave them to their own business.

My foster mom is helping me polish some of my manners. I get very excited when it’s time to go on a walk, and I need to be reminded not to jump when I see my leash and to sit quietly at the door before we leave. I am also practicing sitting when we come to a road so we can be safe on our adventures. I also like to work on my commands like “sit”, “down”, and “leave it” as long as there is a treat involved!

If I sound like the perfect lady for you, apply to meet me at  https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication
