My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a diamond in the ruff?!   Look no further than this beautiful, sweet girl. Dog, cat and kid friendly this girl has it all! Abandoned on a trail in Alabama with her brother Hach, she has all the love in the world to give her forever family. Can you be the one to mend her broken heart and offer her the life she deserves?

Meet Iko, she is approximately 8 months old and mixed breed (your guess is as good as ours!). She currently weighs 41 lb. Her coat is a gorgeous red color that shines in the sun and is velvety soft.

Iko loves every human she meets and is a snuggle bug. She will jump right into your lap and arms and give you kisses for hours. Not only does she love all humans big and small but loves all dogs as well! She is fostered with 4 other dogs of all ages, sizes, and genders. She is happy to play rough if the dog wants to, but is very submissive and will back off if told to. She has been cat tested and did well, just is curious about them. She is also good on a leash and great in the car.

Along with her beaming personality, she is house and crate trained as well. Iko is also spayed, and up to date on her vaccines and preventatives. She did break a toe a week ago, but it is healing well and not bothering her at all.

So, what are you waiting for? Apply today! This beautiful girl is waiting in York, PA where you can meet her once approved.

We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs.  Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. We are an all-volunteer organization, and we are always looking for more help. Learn more about adopting from us or volunteering for us at www.pack9rescue.org or check us out on Facebook for more information and a complete list of dogs available for adoption.
