My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Crystal is a young Maltese mix - perhaps with a Chihuahua. She is approximately 1-2 years old and weighs less than 10 pounds. She loves her soft squeaky toys and plays with them until she's ready for a quick nap before she starts over again.
She gets along with the other small dogs in the foster home but has not been tested with larger dogs.
She also has a senior cat in her foster home whom she will go check on but is indifferent to it.
Crystal is slow to warm up and will need someone who understands that she needs to set the pace.

Crystal is up to date on her vaccinations, has been spayed, heartworm tested and has a microchip.
Crystal is being fostered in Oconomowoc, WIDATCP#512714

More about this rescue

Rescue For Life, located near Merrill, WI, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to reducing the homeless pet overpopulation.

Rescue For Life was founded in 2022 to meet the increased growing needs of homeless pets.

Our animals often come to our attention through shelters, police departments, local community, veterinarians, and other animal rescue organizations. Pregnant or nursing dogs are also accepted into our program. We believe all dogs are “adoptable” and simply need to find the right family.

All animals are taken to our veterinarian partners for a complete examination, worming, vaccinations, spaying/neutering (as breed/age appropriate) and micro-chipped. We provide medical care and a safe, nurturing environment for our animals to enjoy while they await adoption. Our rescued pets live in foster homes so they experience the love of a “real family” while waiting for their forever homes.

To ensure these animals are placed into the right loving home, we adhere to a rigorous adoption process. Reference and background checks are performed, adoption interviews are conducted along with virtual home visits. All pets are re-homed based on their specific needs and best interest.

Our overall goal is to ensure the pet is healthy, sterilized, and best match for the potential adopter in an effort to reduce any chance that the pet will be returned.

Our organization is 100% funded by donors so that we may provide shelter, medical care, and so much more to the many homeless animals that come our way.

We are very thankful for all our fosters who contribute their time, home and hearts, and enable us to continue our mission of rescuing and re-homing abandoned, neglected and unwanted pets.
