My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Anita is a fun, 9 year old, 10lb, Dachshund/Terrier mix who acts as goofy as she looks! She is pretty mellow overall, and spends most of her day relaxing on the couch beside you, but she can keep up if you're feeling more active. She especially loves to go for walks! The moment you say the word, she dances in place until you put her harness on! She walks like she is leading us on a mission! It may seem as though she has somewhere important to go but, if you turn her around, she walks with equal enthusiasm that direction as well! Anita's other passion in life is food! She is always excited for meal time and, once she scarfs down her food, she rolls in her dog bed, paws in the air to celebrate her full belly! Anita gets along with everyone and even sometimes plays with other small dogs but she doesn't like to share her person. She definitely prefers people and would do best as the only pet in her next home. She will follow you everywhere and likes to always be near! She has a bit of separation anxiety so we are looking for a family where someone is home often. She can be crated when you need to go out, but she doesn't do well being confined for long periods of time. Anita has been examined by our vet and is in good shape! She only has two teeth, but she has no problems eating small kibble! She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Her coat is soft (not wirey) and requires some brushing but she doesn't need haircuts! We just love her mohawk (which can be brushed down) and bushy eyebrows! Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Go to our website to fill out an Adoption Application! We will review your app and, if your home is a good match for the pet, we well email you to set up a meeting with your family and current pets. If all goes well at the meeting, we offer a foster to adopt program where you can take home the pet you're interested in for up to two weeks to make sure he/she is a good fit for your home and is welcomed by your other current animals. We just ask that you leave the adoption fee as a deposit before taking your pet home. Any time within the two weeks, if you decide the pet is a perfect addition to your family, let us know and sign the Adoption Contract, we will hand over all vaccine paperwork, and the pet is yours! (If you decide the pet is not for you, the deposit will be returned in full)

Adoption Fees:
$400 for puppies (6mo or younger)
$350 for adult dogs
$250 for senior dogs (8+years)

$150 for kittens (6mo or younger)
$125 for adult cats
$100 for senior cats

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Potential adopters must submit an application before setting up a private meeting with that specific animal. Once application is reviewed, we will email to make arrangements to set the date/time. We ask that the entire family and current pets are present. Meetings are held at the animals location or at your home. We also have adoption shows occasionally where you can come down and meet some of our adoptable pets. Please check our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/dominoeffectanimalrescue to find out when our next show will be!

More about this rescue

Domino Effect Animal Rescue is a 501c3 non profit, no kill animal rescue located in Temecula Valley, California dedicated to saving the lives of animals in county shelters. By taking in some of these homeless animals, we hope to ease the overcrowding in shelters which leads to euthanasia. We provide care and love to all animals that enter our rescue as they await their loving, forever homes. Each animal is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and examined by a licensed veterinarian. Some animals require more medical care than the basics and we help them heal so that they can live healthy lives with their next family. We also work on basic obedience and socialization skills to help each pet develop desired behaviors for their future family.
