Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Between May 1st and 15th, part of my adoption fee is sponsored! Thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation's Empty the Shelters campaign, my new family can take me home for $50!
Meet Minka! This delightful 7-month-old, approximately 30 pound mixed breed pup is a bundle of love waiting to brighten your days. Minka's tail never stops wagging, and her heart is as big as her appetite for kisses and cuddles.
From the moment she stepped into foster care, Minka's intelligence shone through as she quickly picked up a few commands. She's a fast learner, eager to please, and her love for people knows no bounds. Plus, her sociable nature extends to her furry friends - she gets along famously with other dogs.
Minka's outdoor adventures are a joy to behold. She's a patient walker, matching her pace to yours, but don't be fooled - when it's time to run, she's off like a rocket! House training is a work in progress, with Minka showing promise both with pee pad training and outdoor routines.
When it comes to treats, Minka's favorites include eggs and her wet food. But her real reward is your affection - she thrives on praise and loves to be acknowledged for a job well done.
In the home, Minka is a dream companion. Quiet and content, she doesn't bark unnecessarily and can stay alone without the need for a crate. Whether it's playtime in the backyard or snuggling up for a nap, Minka matches your energy and enthusiasm every step of the way.
Minka is ready to find her forever home. Could it be with you?
Long Beach, NY. Her adoption fee is $425.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
