My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Renegade was brought in to Orange County Animal Services at the end of last year by a kind person who found him roaming about on his own, and from OCAS he was transferred to us. Renegade has put his unhappy beginnings behind him and is enjoying the safety and TLC of his foster home. He is a friendly and energetic boy and is looking forward to finding his forever family.

Renegade is on the small side, weighing in at under 3 pounds, but he is large in the personality department! He will run like a little race care during his daily free roam time, and he also likes to jump up and explore whatever he can. All of this exercise gives him great appetite. He looks forward to his fresh greens every day, especially cilantro and strawberry tops, and he enjoys his (bunny-friendly) bedtime treat and gets very excited when he hears to rustling of the treat bag. Renegade is friendly with the (well behaved) dog at his foster home, and will run up to greet anyone who approaches his pen. So far he has had a hard time sitting still long enough for pets, but with patience and time he will very likely develop an appreciation for extended head and ear rubs. Renegade would very much like to find a home where he will be able to further develop his racing abilities.

We adopt to indoor homes only! If you are interested in adopting a bunny from Orlando Rabbit Care and Adoptions, or would like more information on rabbit care, please visit our website at: http://www.orlandorabbit.org. The first step in our adoption process is to complete an adoption application, which can be found here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/55856/generic . Then one of our volunteers will reach out to you via email to schedule a time to speak with you. If you don’t see the email in a day or two, please check your spam folder!

Our Adoption Fee/Donation for a single rabbit is $100, a pair is $170, and a triple is $200. This helps to offset the cost of having the rabbits altered, microchipped and vaccinated, as well as any medical care that may have been required.

Additional adoption info

For those that want to bond a new rabbit with an existing rabbit, we conduct bonding events where the home rabbit can meet several rabbits to find a potential match. We work with the adopting family to help ensure that the rabbits bond. We take back the adoptive rabbit if there is not a match.

Our adoption agreement specifies that we will take any adopted rabbit back, should the home situation change in the future.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster-based rescue where our available animals are kept in private homes.

You can see our rabbits online, then make an appointment to meet the rabbit(s) you select.

From time-to-time, we conduct adoption events where you can meet multiple rabbits. Because of RHDV2, these events have been paused.

More about this rescue

We are a rescue and educational group dedicated to the health, care and enjoyment of house rabbits. We believe that pet rabbits are family members and should be housed indoors, should be fed a healthy diet, should be spayed or neutered, and should receive quality medical care. Our organization strives to provide bunny parents with information to help them care for their rabbit.
