Archie is an intelligent and beautiful dog who is playful and lovable, including with other dogs--but does not seem happy in our home. He likes his "alone" time in our home and can sometimes resist petting or going on walks with my husband or me. He does love to cuddle on the couch with us. He also goes on two hour hikes three times weekly in the woods with a group of dogs, and the people who take him LOVE him and always compliment his behavior and affectionate nature.
We do have another dog that we are training to be my service dog as a result of my hearing impairment--another labradoodle--and this may be contributing to his behavior. He would likely do best as the only dog in the household, although he does not have aggression issues with other dogs. The only time he has ever been aggressive with any human is when I tried to brush him in the past, which I no longer do---at all. His coat is curly and non-shedding, so I let the professional groomers take care of his coat.
