I am urgently trying to find a new home for Sana, my 2.5yo Akita- she must be re-homed by May 1st at the latest. She is not safe around children, nor is she safe around other pets at this time (maybe with training). She suffers from separation anxiety, so she would love to be a companion animal. She needs vigorous daily exercise or room to run.
Sana is a purebred Akita (no papers). She weighs about 100lbs. She's micro-chipped, she’s up to date on vaccinations, and she has no major health problems (she does have sensitive skin; a possible flea allergy; she’s on a limited-ingredient diet). Spayed.
At this point, due to her fear reactivity, prey drive, and aggression towards other animals, Sana is a high risk animal. She has no bite history. She’s very wary of strangers, but she has become friends with my friends and with people who regularly take her for walks. She knows basic commands but will require further training. An owner with experience handling dominant-type breeds would be best
