My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update 2:  Valentina was discovered with a pack of stray/abandoned dogs nursing 9 puppies in January. We sprung into action to bring Valentina and her little ones to safety before an approaching deep freeze. Unfortunately they fell ill with parvo and required immediate medical intervention. Eight of the 9 puppies survived, are growing strong and receiving vaccines. 2 males are available for adoption in mid March. Valentina is their mom and a black shepherd is the father.

  • Age: 12 weeks
  • Weight: 10lbs
  • Dogs: Yes
  • Cats: Yes
  • Kids: Yes

*****************************************************

Update 1 : 8 puppies are currently at a local vet receiving care due to the lack of transportation to the parvo center. We will allow the vet to make the decision on whether or not he believes they need further care or if he believes we have caught it soon enough to treat them here. The first pup who broke with parvo and went to Pet Dr 911 yesterday did not make it through the night.

Parvo Emergency ‼️
You guys may remember this mom and litter of 9 who came from Sullivan City. Unfortunately they contracted parvo. We now have 24 hours to get them to the parvo center and raise (ESTIMATED) $5229 to give them the best chance at survival.
$379 pet 911 bill for the first pup to break with parvo
(estimated) $500 PER DOG for their treatment at a parvo center

Adoption Policies / Adoption Process
Complete our application with the name of the dog you are applying for.

We will review all applications for each dog in order to make a decision about which home best suits the dog’s needs.
Applications are not considered in the order they are received; all applications will be considered in determining the best situation for each dog. Completing an adoption application is not a guarantee that you will receive the dog you are applying for, and CHBR reserves the right to reject any application as we see fit.
We will call the personal and veterinary references you listed on the application then contact you to schedule a home visit.
These checks are performed to ensure that you will be a responsible pet parent and that you will provide routine veterinary care for the dog as needed.
After successful completion of the home visit, you will schedule a time with the dog’s foster family to meet the foster dog.
Applicants are expected to travel to the foster family’s home to meet the foster dog. Please note this is an initial meeting to help determine if your family and the dog are a good match. Neither party is obligated to continue with the adoption, and you are not required to adopt the dog on the meeting. Either you or the foster family can call off the adoption for any reason. We hope, however, that it will be a good match and that day you’ll be able to go home with your new pet.

The adoption will be finalized with you signing the adoption contract and providing the adoption donation.
You will be provided medical records for the dog.
The dog will be fully vetted by the rescue as part of the adoption donation. This means all vaccinations, spayed/ neutered, HW tested, Tick Born Illness Tested and Micro chipped, wormed for parasites if needed.
Please remember that we do not have a facility or kennel where you can visit or meet our Boxers. All of our dogs are in the care of their loving foster homes. We can in NY, NJ, PA or New England.
