My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bella is a paw-some sidekick for adults seeking a loyal and affectionate furry friend. Her energy levels match those of a marathon runner, making her the perfect jogging buddy or hiking companion. Although she's used to apartment life, Bella dreams of a fenced yard for epic zoomies.

She's a pro at snuggles and kisses, and her compact size makes her an ideal road trip pal. Bella's a rare gem - she's quiet, adores car rides, and loves tagging along on errands. Despite some initial shyness, Bella has the potential to blossom into a devoted human companion.

Once past her bashfulness, Bella's a goofy and playful gal who craves attention and bonds quickly with her favorite human. She's a solo act, preferring the spotlight without having to share toys with other pups. Bella's heart is as big as her love for adventures.

Age: 6 years

Weight: 19 lbs

Vetting: spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative

Temperament: Prefers being only pet as of now, but could adapt to living with another small dog/cat with gradual intro/patience; too timid for home with kids.

Training: House trained, basic training

To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your h
ome for a preliminary visit.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

We are 100% volunteer/foster based, so we do ask that you complete an adoption application in order for us to schedule a phone interview.

2.

Interview

After reviewing your application, we'll contact you to determine if dog is a good fit for your lifestyle and home.

3.

Approve Application

We check vet and personal references to ensure previous dogs were well cared for, so please be thorough in providing this info.

4.

Home Check

This enables the dog to get to know you and your home and for us to suggest anything they may need to be successful in your home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

You would also pay the fee at this time, however, we offer a 2 week trial period before cashing your check. We will always take dogs back.

Additional adoption info

You will be asked to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/dh-adoption) and allow a home visit to ensure the pet is a good fit for your home/lifestyle.

We are primarily a placement service, so the adoption fees vary depending on each pet and what caretakers have invested medically and behaviorally to ensure they are adoption-ready.

Go meet their pets

Doggie Harmony does not hold regular adoption events, but follow our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/doggieharmony) for special events. We also encourage you to contact us about pets you may be interested in, as we are always willing to bring them to meet you.

We do not have a shelter, so please understand that we are only able to support animals with foster homes or donations toward short-term boarding.

More about this rescue

Doggie Harmony is a metro-Atlanta dog rescue group focused on finding the right homes for dogs in foster care or belonging to owners who wish to re-home them. Our core objective is to place these dogs before they are turned over to animal control facilities, where they may be euthanized. Lastly, Doggie Harmony supports spay/neuter, wellness, and training to help keep or place dogs. This includes helping people find low cost resources and/or lending financial support where there's a qualified need.
