Joan is a petite lady weighing about 5 lbs. She is a puppy mill survivor and learning what it is like to relax and just be a dog living in a home.
Joan is a loving lady once she trusts. She sleeps peacefully in her foster mom's bed every night. She likes to be outside and explore the yard. She can still get spooked with unfamiliar or loud sounds, but she is doing better. She will need a secure physical fenced yard to keep her safe as she is considered a flight risk.
Joan gets along great with other dogs and is learning so much about how to be a pet from the resident dogs. She will need a canine friend to continue to learn from.
Joan's adoption is $375. She is spayed, received a dental, microchipped, current on vaccines and on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Visit leiashope.org for next steps.
PLEASE NOTE: We are a volunteer ran rescue with full time jobs. Please allow 7-10 days for application processing.
All of our dogs are in foster homes and a meet and greet is done ONLY after an approved application.
We do adopt out of the area. However, we do not ship or provide transportation. You must come to the location of the dog to meet and adopt. NO EXCEPTION. All family members and dogs must be present at the meet.
Dogs are a commitment for THEIR lifetime. For puppies this could be 15 years. If YOU cannot commit to the lifetime of the DOG, please do not apply. Puppies under 9 months must go to a home where there is someone home frequently (works from home or a partner is home), can adequately socialize and train the puppy, and can keep up with puppy energy!
Please visit leiashope.org for our adoption process.

We are a licensed foster based rescue. We rescue mostly seniors and special need dogs as these are normally the first to be euthanized in shelters.
Our Mission:
To rescue, rehabilitate and rehome unwanted dogs and find the best home for each dog in our care. Our belief is all healthy and treatable dogs, regardless of breed or age, have the right to life, happiness, and love.
