My name is Dan!

Hi, I'm Dan! I'm a 1 year Vizsla/Pit Bull mix with the most gorgeous green eyes! $100 of my adoption fee is sponsored by a kind individual, so now my adoption fee is only $75! I came to the shelter at 6 months old with my sister (who has since been adopted). Once I know you, I'm a sweet and goofy boy. I have a bit of energy as you would expect a pup my age. I like to play with other dogs and enjoy running outside. I am currently in a 7 week training program to help me be the bestest boy. So far I have learned "sit", "lay down", and we are working on proper leash walking. I can sometimes be stubborn, however I am highly food motivatred and willing to do whatever it takes to get the treat! Would you come and meet me? I know I can charm my way into your life with my beautiful eyes and personality.

Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come.

Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets!
