Meet Elvira, the sweet and loving girl who's searching for her forever home! At just under three years old, Elvira is ready to become your steadfast companion. While she may be a bit shy with newcomers, Elvira's gentle nature and loving personality shine through once she feels comfortable.
When Elvira arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from their partner shelter in Louisiana, she tested positive for Heartworm. However, the staff believes that the best place for heartworm-positive dogs like Elvira to be during treatment and recovery is with a loving and forever family like yours.
If you choose to adopt Elvira, the clinic staff will be with you every step of the way, answering questions and offering support. The treatment process typically lasts three months and involves some simple at-home steps to keep Elvira safe while she recovers. The staff anticipates that Elvira will fully recover, and she's eager to find a loving home where she can thrive.
If you're ready to open your heart and home to Elvira and help her on her journey to recovery, come meet her today! Together, you can create a lifetime of love and happiness.
Stop in and meet Elvira during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you.
Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
