My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I have lived with dogs.

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I would do best in a home with only adult humans.

I don't always like to share my food, toys or bedding with other animals.

I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some canine body language together!

I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me.

A volunteer writes: Starfire shines brighter than the recent eclipse! This pretty gal of medium size and medium age (the perfect combination, IMO) previously lived in a home with other dogs. Starfire is a smart and savvy dog who appreciates a little time to get to know you in order to feel comfortable, but once she knows that you are a friend, she is all in! During her stay with us at the shelter Starfire has been a very good girl, but she's ready to be back in a home with a loving family who will share her joy and zest for life! Starfire also told us that she'd prefer a home without small kiddos, with patient people who can give her space to feel comfortable and safe.
