My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Amaya
Age: 10 years young
Breed: Chihuahua or Chiweenie
Personality: Timid

Amaya's Story:

Amaya is a sassy gentle soul who found herself in a tough situation. She was abused and abandoned. We think at one point she was once a cherished family member, but sadly, her world was turned upside down. This trauma has caused her to be very scared. She can be very sweet after she gets to know you. She does have a typically chi personality. Amay is fearful in new situations.

We pulled her sight unseen, we felt so bad for her little body caring around this giant mass. She was in so much pain for years. We need to find a owner that will understand that her life took an unexpected twist, that day she was found alone in the middle of the street.

The mass turned out to be a hernia. She has had surgery to remove it.
We need a special understanding home that will ensure that her golden years are filled with love, care, and happiness.
She gets along well with dogs and cats. Can dance for food and treats. It's very cute. Her mass was not cancer and she has perfect blood work and ekg.

She does have a few Personalities, one is sweet and the other stubord . She is the boss in her little head. lol She may be a bit shy at first, but her heart is as big as they come. Once she warms up to you, she will be your most loyal companion. Despite being 10 years old, Amaya has a surprising amount of energy. Age is just a number to Amaya!

Additional adoption info

Our pet adoption fees are based on the medical cost of the dog you would like to adopt. It can range anywhere from $75 to $500 depending on the extent of care they need. All dogs are brought up to date on their shots, including Rabies, they are spayed/neutered, microchipped and free of parasites. They are also tested for Heartworm and Lymes disease. Because of the poor treatment given to some of these animals by their previous owners, many need dentals and there are some that test positive for Heartworm and/or Lymes. These treatments are very expensive and the Rescue can only pay their hospital costs from adoption fees. We are a non-profit organization that relies strictly on donations.
