Socks was a stray that lived at a job site near Kingwood Hospital last summer/fall. He was very skittish and would not let anyone near him. He was well fed by many workers in the area however. As the construction project was near completion, the owner wanted the dog gone. My husband was able to gain his trust and get him in the truck. Our intention was to take him to a shelter, but we discovered that Montgomery County shelter is full. We have taken him to the vet to be neutered and he is on heartworm/flea prevention as well as vaccinations up to date, he is about a year old, 60 lbs. We are gone 10-12 hours a day and the dog is very lonely. Due to a pet allergy of an elderly family member, he stays outside or in a kennel in the garage. He has never the soiled the kennel and will bark if he needs to go out. He is very shy, does not bark a lot and has never shown any aggression. He has become quite loyal to my husband, who was the first person to actually grab him.
