Why I need a new home

Does not get along with another pet

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cocoa is three years old. She is high energy, reactive, and territorial of her people and space. She has learned to live with our other dog, but we are unable to have her around unfamiliar dogs.

She is not aggressive toward people, but has been aggressive to other dogs in our house and when visiting other homes. She regularly jumps the fence to chase rabbits, cats, squirrels.

She is a lot of dog. With that out of the way, we will be heartbroken to see her leave. She loves to snuggle and play, has a ton of personality, and is very obedient in calm situations.

We adopted her two years ago looking for a companion for our other dog. We hoped that we could be a safe home for her to relearn positive behaviors, but we haven’t been able to make progress on her reactivity.

She needs an owner willing to give her a high level of activity, and invest time in healthy socialization. She may be able to adjust to other pets. She is an excellent companion.
