My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Olivia !!
This little girl is number 2 of the 4 terrified dogs we are helping. She has been through a lot. We are hoping maybe someone will take a chance on her. Maybe you’re that special person!
Olivia is an approx 7 year old female Beagle mix weighing 18 pounds. She is already spayed, microchipped and updated on vaccines. Thankfully she is heartworm negative.
This little lady is so super sweet but very scared. She was saved from being euthanized in a shelter but had to live outside while they tried to find a rescue for her. Due to this she has some quirks that we are working through. Her new family will have to be understanding of her needs and willing to help bring her out of her shell. She wants to love so badly; we can see it more and more every day.
Currently Olivia will coexist around you but isn’t wanting you to reach out and touch her. You can however pick her up and she will tolerate it. If you are a kid she will let you touch her. I guess kids aren’t as scary to her. She will also come around and boop you on the foot with her nose if you are sitting down. She seems to want the love and attention but is also scared at the same time.
She has done wonderful with all other dogs of every age and size. She has not been around cats with us but I doubt she would bother them. She really loves kids. They are less scary to her and she lets them touch her and be close to her. Kids will need to give her space for a day or two to let her adjust.
Olivia is new to learning house rules but overall, she does really well. She is great in her crate and is not vocal in there. She has also had no potty accidents when crated. She is good in the car just scared. She has had no trouble sharing food, treats or toys with other dogs or humans.
As far as potty training she will go potty outside however, she will not go on a leash. We are working hard to train her but she is terrified of a leash still. The problem she has is she was living outside and doesn’t want to come back inside. She will stay out there forever and she is really good at winning the catch me if you can game when you go to get her back in.
The solution at the moment is she is let out and drags a long leash behind her so you can grab it and get her back in. We know once the fear fades away this won’t be an issue anymore but it is something her new family will have to help her get past. Due to this a fenced yard would be required for her. So far she has not tried to go over or escape a 4 foot fence.
Olivia is fairly low energy until it’s time to catch her outside. Then she is an all-star track athlete lol. Inside the house she is quiet and easy going. Very laid back and co exists well with everyone.
She’s not that perfect “normal” dog most people want but if you’re one of those special people that want to really rescue and save a dog then she might be the one.
We sure hope there’s someone out there willing to earn the love of this dog that’s been through so much in her short life. Once she has that break through moment and realizes there is nothing to be scared of she is going to be the most loving and loyal little lady ever!
