We need to rehome my beloved Chewie. A heartbreaking decision. We have a newborn and Chewie does best in a child-free home. Chewie is an Australian Cattle Dog, Australian Shepard & Golden Retriever, 6 years old, and 55 pounds. He is housetrained, chipped, and fixed. He can sit, lay down, place, stay and heal. He is sweet, independent, loyal, playful, smart and beautiful. He has been boarded, has been to doggie daycare, and is friendly with other dogs (but leash-reactive). He is friendly with a cat (but most likely would need to be re-trained to accept a new cat in his life).
We adopted Chewie when he was 2 - found abandoned on the side of a road in a crate. He is fearful and reserved initially and needs a little time to warm up to new people and situations. He gets anxious in loud and crowded places. Does best in calmer environments. He is leash-reactive, has received training and has improved a lot. Looking for a patient loving soul. He will love you back with immense sweetness.
