My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Forrest, the epitome of friendliness, sweetness, and love, has spent the first 61 days of his young life in a shelter, eagerly awaiting the moment he can embark on his "freedom ride" to a forever home. While his siblings have found their families, Forrest remains hopeful that it's now his turn to discover a loving environment where he can thrive, play, and simply enjoy being a puppy. With his irresistible charm and undeniable cuteness, Forrest promises to be a delightful addition to any family looking for a furry companion. If you've been considering opening your heart and home to a new pet, why not visit the shelter and meet Forrest? This adorable fur baby could be the perfect match for your family, ready to fill your days with joy and companionship.

Adoption fees include his neuter, microchip, vaccines, heartworm testing, and deworming. We will also start him on heartworm prevention and flea/tick medication

More about this shelter

Concern over a large, and ever increasing, population of homeless dogs and cats, instigated the opening of the Monroe County Animal Shelter.
A not-for-profit organization, Monroe County Friends of Animals help the shelter by providing volunteers, fundraising events, grant writing and more. There is always a need for more volunteers. With a small budget, donations are a welcome necessity. We have developed educational programs to promote spay/neuter and humane care of all animals.
