My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Let's get Elsa a wonderful home!

Elsa is a Jack Russell Terrier mix who is about two years old. She is full grown and weighs 16 pounds. She is crate trained and has not had any accidents in her foster's home so we think that she is housetrained.

Elsa seems to not have been around many people when she was growing up so she is still getting use to being handled. She loves to play with her people and LOVES treats and is learning to sit nicely for them. She is slowly learning to let people pet her, but she is more focused on play time than anything else. She does GREAT with other dogs and we think that she will do well with kids. She has not been around cats so we do not know how she would do with them.

She MUST have a fenced in yard that is appropriate for her size and she would do best with a family who is home most of the time to work on her socialization. She does not know how to walk on a leash, but she is learning. Elsa is HIGH energy and is always, always on the go!
Elsa loves to horde all of the toys and her foster has to go and get them from wherever Elsa has decided to drop them for the day (usually the patio love seat). When she is not carrying toys around, she is usually playing chase with her foster siblings.

More about this rescue

The Fayette County Humane Society (FCHS), staffed entirely by volunteers, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported entirely by individual and corporate donations. Because we do not have a shelter, all of the animals we rescue live in temporary foster homes until they are adopted. We believe that all companion pets have intrinsic value and should be treated with the reverence and care they deserve.
