My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If I were a flower, I would pick you!

Hey there, I’m Emmylou Harris, and I’m wagging with excitement to make your acquaintance!

I'm a bundle of love wrapped in fur, and nothing makes me happier than snuggling up close and indulging in some good old-fashioned playtime. Sniffing out new scents is like a treasure hunt for me! Have you ever tried a sniff walk? It's my favorite way to explore the world around me, one scent at a time.

But let me tell you about my absolute favorite pastime: playing chuck it! I've got energy to spare, and nothing beats the thrill of chasing after that ball as many times as you'll throw it. If you've got a yard, count me in for endless games of fetch—I'm all about that outdoor fun! In addition to that, squeaky toys and tug-of-war are where it's at.

Don't let my playful side fool you, though—I'm also a well-behaved pup. I'm potty trained and perfectly content when my humans are away. No need for a crate with me around—I'm too busy lounging and dreaming about our next adventure together, if you prefer though, I have had crate training too.

Looking for a snuggle buddy? Look no further! I live for those cozy couch cuddles and bedtime snuggles with my favorite people.

Now, about my furry friends: I've never met one of those things called cats, but I get along with some dogs just fine. I had a not-so-great experience with a big dog at daycare, that dog really scared me, so I'm a bit nervous about big dogs, other dogs I like to meet slow and see if we like each other.

I can't wait to find my forever home—a place where I can be my playful, affectionate self to the fullest. Will you be the one to make my tail wag with joy? Let's embark on this journey together!

"Forget Me Not" Promo
For Applications received through 5/31/2024, Warrior Dog Rescue is taking $200 off of the adoption fee of select dogs over 2 years old that have often been over looked. This is reflected in the adoption fee shown below.
*Training discounts do not apply*

All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spay/neuter before adoption unless age is a factor with a puppy younger than 6-12 months at the time of adoption. If that is the case, the spay/neuter will be covered in the adoption fee and the owner will be responsible to have the procedure completed at a Warrior Dog Rescue Veterinarian at the appropriate time.

Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.

More about this rescue

The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering. We are committed to providing them the medical care they need, helping them to overcome their past by providing them loving, educated foster homes, finding them their perfect forever home by means of a thorough adoption process, and guiding them on their journey into their new life. They all deserve a “good dog life… every single one of them.”

Warrior Dog Rescue will be a model rescue by partnering with overcrowded shelters that need to make room for more abandoned dogs. We will continue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, and neglect. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country. Every dog will know what it feels like to be loved till the end of their life.
