*Moe is currently not living at the shelter but still available for adoption so please email asoanimaladoption@austintexas.gov for next steps, if you are interested in meeting him!*
Introducing Moe, a smiley 2 year old who is dog friendly, playful & well mannered! Moe found his way to AAC in March, and while we are still learning about him, a Volunteer recently took him an outing to Zilker Park & a fashion show. We learned that Moe is vocal, excited to meet other pups, and makes a great car passenger (especially when the window breeze is hitting him)!
Other things we have observed with Moe – He’s very treat and foot motivated. This means he will make a great partner when it comes to learning basic commands and training. Moe’s ahead of the curve though, because he can already sit and stay on command. Moe is also house trained and commonly uses designated bathroom spots at the shelter, so with continued training he can pick this up in his forever home, too.
This handsome boy could afford to gain some weight, so if you are willing to open your heart and home to foster or adopt Moe, we know he will be forever grateful. Moe is playful, smart and ready to take on the world outside of the shelter.

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.
Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older
