Hi everyone! My name is Kiara. I was brought to Stray Haven by the Athen's Borough Sheriff's office from a less-than-ideal living situation. When I got here, I was named Kiara, meaning "light" in hopes to find a fur-ever family who makes my face light up with joy. I'm still settling into life at the shelter, but I'm having fun running in the yard & doing tricks with the staff. I can sit and shake hands, and I also love to stand up with humans and dance.
I do not do well with other animals or children under the age of 12. I would do best in a home where I wasn't in close proximity to any other animals either. I really enjoy going for walks and I do well on a leash, although I pull a bit when I get very excited. I have a ton of energy and I need plenty of space to run. I shouldn't be left unsupervised in a yard but if we are out playing in a fenced-in area, I won't try to climb out.
As a birthday present for their son who loves dogs, a nice family sponsored my adoption fee! All you need is an approved application and to let me love you forever. If you're interested in adding me to your family, please visit Stray Haven as I'm still waiting for my fur-ever family. Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA 194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892 (607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours: Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pm Saturday-Sunday 10am-4pm Closed on Mondays
