Meet handsome Buckaroo, a 4-month old Labrador/ Catahoula/ Shepherd mix (?) who came to us with his 3 littermates.

Right from the start, Buck has been "the first" of his litter. He was the first to venture out of his crate and explore his new surroundings. Buck was the first to seek contact with his Almost Home Rescue humans. He was the first to take treats, the first to ask for belly rubs, the first to try on a harness, the first to walk beautifully on leash, and the first to meet - and PLAY - with new dogs...

Bottom line, Buck is confident, inquisitive, affectionate and playful. He engages with his littermates, other rescue pups and even the resident cat with a calm, well-mannered demeanor. He knows how to entertain himself and often climbs up onto a dog bed to enjoy a chew toy in peace. A smart little guy, Buck already knows "Sit", "Down", "Watch", "Wait" and "Place". He readily accepts a harness and leash and waits patiently at the door for his turn to go out and potty.

We are delighted in seeing how quickly and confidently Buck adapts to new environments. He is ready to show his new family just how special he is! Our adoption donation includes Buck's neuter surgery, scheduled for 3/25/24 as well as microchip and age-appropriate vaccinations.
