My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Miklos!  This calm and patient boy is most likely a Pyrenees/Lab mix, as he has the distinct double declaw of a Pyr and shorter fur like a Labrador Retriever.  We are guessing he’s about 5 years old. He weighs a healthy 80-85 pounds and is fully grown.

Miklos is a very relaxed dog who loves getting attention and doing some gentle play.  He loves to lounge around on his dog bed or the couch, and even has a favorite cushiony doggy pillow where he likes to lay his big head.

Miklos loves his people and loves to be petted.  He is shy and timid when first meeting anyone new.  After he learns to trust you, he loves to stick by your side and happily greets you with his wagging tail.  He seems to do well with kids although he has not had a lot of interaction with them yet.

He is also slow to interact with new dogs. After staying back to observe them, he does great and plays with any who want to play with him. Miklos would do well in any home, whether with other dogs or by himself.  He does not enjoy dog parks as he gets a little scared and reclusive in large social gatherings.

He is leash trained and loves to go outside for walks with you.  With his low energy level, he doesn’t need an excessive amount of exercise. He could even be a good apartment dog, assuming there is room and he is allowed due to his size.

Miklos is fully house trained.  He does great in the crate and the car. He doesn’t bark very much, only occasionally doing so if there is a stranger or trash truck near his backyard.

He does not have any food aggression issues with people, but will growl some if a dog gets close when he is eating.

SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!
