My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you’ve ever raised a lab puppy, you know how challenging this beautiful breed can be during puppyhood. Our sweet girl Lola is no exception to the rule. She was adopted to a lovely family but returned to us when her mouthiness became too difficult for them to manage. She uses her mouth as a tool to explore and play, and not to harm, but she was having a hard time finding the appropriate boundary to ease up on the pressure of her bite. She had no sense of her strength which made it uncomfortable for whoever’s hand she chose to mouth on.

We don’t mess around with things like this at our rescue - we want Lola’s future adoption to be successful and permanent. We sent her to our trusted team over at @canineschoolofbehavior for a board and train so she could learn to phase out her mouthiness and learn boundaries. We are happy to report that she has graduated the program and is doing amazing. We are confident that she is now set up for success in her future forever home.

Lola is less than a year old, full of puppy energy, and is loyal and sweet. She loves to go on adventures and walk around the neighborhood. She is great with other dogs and bonds hard with her humans. She needs an adopter who will continue to provide her with the structure she learned at training that supported so much positive change. We will cover a a session for her adopters at Canine School of Behavior so that they will have all the knowledge they need for Lola to continue to be a fantastic pup.
