My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Hushy! We only met Hushy a few days ago, but he seems to be a pretty stand up guy to us. Hushy is an active dog who will need plenty of enrichment in his adoptive home. He's a bit of an escape artist as well, so if you have a yard, it would be best if it was fenced in, as Hushy might just be encouraged to explore the neighborhood if not. Hushy is also a Special Care animal, which means he needs a bit more love. Although he is asymptomatic at the present moment, Hushy is currently heartworm positive. But don't fret, Anti Cruelty is here to support you in his adoption! He will be eligible for his last two treatments starting on April 15th which will be taken care of by our on-site clinic. After the first treatment, Hushy MUST have only very limited exercise to reduce the chance of complications occurring. Adopters should be available to bring Hushy in for these treatments as close to that date as possible. He is also currently on an antibiotic which his adopters will be sent home with. Hushy is absolutely itching to meet you, but to be fair he was itching before he came to Anti Cruelty too. He has some patchy fur on his legs caused by excessive licking of the area. If this patchiness does not clear up with the antibiotics he is currently on or with regular use of flea and tick meds, adopters should be prepared to consult their private vet and consider the possibility of him having allergies. This would mean a special diet, sometimes made with alternative proteins or food that's been all scienced up to remove the majority of allergens. Well don't just stand there! Come on down to our River North adoption center to meet Hushy today!
