JEN NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Jen      Best Guess for Breed:   Shepherd and terrier mix

Best Guess for Age:  3 years as of March 2024     SEX:  Female

Approximate Weight:  50 lbs

Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids but she can be tested. Jen was tested around cats at the shelter and we determined that she should not go to a home with cats based on her reaction. 

Currently Living at:   South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get her freedom ride up here

Special adoption considerations: Jen is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
