My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

contact foster at alayna.michael2021@gmail.com

* Easy to leash and harness!
* Pulled and grabbed at leash when first exiting kennel, but redirected easily with toys; easy to walk and no leash grabbing once she burned off some energy - checked in frequently (see video)!
* Treat motivated and takes treats gently; will sit for treats!
* Let us take toys and treats away from her without issue!
* She tolerated her bath without trying to escape; let us place her in tub without issue!
* She was not stingy with her kisses (see video)!
* Playful; nice energy level (see videos)!
* Easy in and out of car - jumped right up and out, no problem!
* Great car manners!
* Went into the crate easily - lured by treats; quiet during her rest time, kept herself busy with a chew toy; rested comfortably in her crate even when we left the door open!
* Nonreactive to our resident dog barking at her; on the rail trail she reacted to some dogs we passed but not others (see video); when she did react (barking and some pulling), her body language was positive - tail wagging, no growling, no lunging - and we were able to easily redirect her with praise and treats!
* Nonreactive to bikes, scooters, strollers, trains that passed her during our walk.
* Friendly and soaked up the attention she received from other humans; people she met couldn’t believe she was 10 yrs old!
* She was very interested in resident shelter cat and our resident cat - pulled towards them - so may do best in a no cat home or a very slow introduction.
* May be potty trained (a “holder”) - went outdoors.
