Brock lived most of his 6 years chained outside and has moved on up to a warm bed and good food. Sadly Brock can’t see his caretakers because he is blind. And maybe that is the reason he is also a bit of a grump from time to time, growling displeasure at whatever is bugging him at the moment. Maybe confinement. Maybe too many strange new people. Although he seems to notice movement and will turn his head in tandem, the vet confirmed that his type of blindness is permanent.
It will take a special person to take this special dog on - one who will understand that he is not accustomed to being held or hugged. He seeks out and allows for a lot of petting when he initiates it. Brock is hard to resist with his big smile and tiny teeth, but those teeth still can hurt if they land on you by approaching him from behind, overhead or catching him by surprise. He is easily refocused with treats which we often scatter for him to find, which he does expertly. An adopter who will learn Brock's triggers and respect them will have a lovely, loyal dog with his quirky personality and curly tail.
