My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. Puppies are so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them lost and alone on city streets or in a high-kill shelter scheduled for euthanasia due to lack of space.

Georgia, at only about 9 weeks old and 9 lbs (estimated to be full grown at approximately 35 - 40 lbs), was facing the end of her life before it ever began. Farfel's New Mexico rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this beautiful and sweet as can be puppy. They rescued Georgia just in time to spare her life. The excellent results of her temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a brand new life.

Georgia is a gorgeous girl. Her stunning markings of black and grey against pure white speak of her breed mix. Georgia is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age and is learning about the world in that very cute way that puppies do. She's super smart and engaging and will make a wonderful best friend for a dog-loving Colorado family.

Since Georgia is just a baby, she's a blank slate waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion and will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through puppy socialization class followed by positive reinforcement Obedience Classes. It does take time and commitment, yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with friendly and engaging behavior.

We're open to Georgia finding her forever home with active retirees with lots of of time and energy to train and enjoy a puppy. Georgia is great with children as well but we would prefer to place her in a home with dog-crazy older kids that can participate in a gentle yet consistent training regimen.

Georgia will be up to date on her vetting and vaccinations but will not be spayed when she arrives in Boulder from New Mexico, Current research is clear that a young puppy like Georgia is too young to be spayed. Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Georgia to be spayed/microchipped at our vet in Denver once she's between nine and twelve months old. This is in line with our commitment to be a part of the solution to pet overpopulation.

Georgia will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Wednesday 3/20/2024. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and very loving best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.
