My name is Cyrus!

Hi! I’m Cyrus! I’m about 2 years old and look to be maybe a Doberman/Lab mix, but that’s just a guess! I’m a very happy boy and I love to play!  I’m very sweet and would do great in training (as I will do just about anything for a treat ). I’d do great in an active family, someone who can take me on daily walks and help me get out some energy. I do good with other dogs, but the shelter still recommends we do a meet & greet if I'm going to be in a home with other dogs. I would do best in a home wiht older children just due to my active personality. I do great in my kennel overnight and seem to be potty-trained!

I've spent 4 weeks at a training facility getting hands-on training to be the best boy! I know how to sit, lay down, and walk well on a leash!

Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come.

Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA, and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long-distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets!
