Hi, I’m Kitty. My foster mom calls me Kitty-Kat. She tells me that I’m a sweet, anxious girl, but I’m not quite sure what she means. It’s a scary world, and I just want to feel safe.

I warmed up quickly to my foster mom, and I used to shy away from my foster dad, but now I love couch snuggles with both of them. When I wake up in the mornings, I check on what my foster siblings have been up to. They have a lot of energy, and sometimes it’s fun to play and run in the yard with them. I am building up my confidence every day.

From my foster parents:
Kitty is a special girl who struggles with anxiety. She is incredibly sweet once she adjusts and comes out of her shell, but she still exhibits anxious/reactive behaviors from time to time, such as:
- Not wanting the other dogs to come near her food
- Barking at strangers or if uncomfortable
- Barking at slamming doors
- Halting on a walk based on sounds that make her uncomfortable

Outside of that, she is a loyal velcro pup who loves to play with both humans and animals alike. She loves to be pet and get belly rubs, playtime with her foster siblings, and just hanging out in my office while I work. Her snuggling skills are pretty fabulous, and she even shares snuggle space with other pups.

Kitty would do well with someone who is gentle and patient with her, giving her space and time as she works through her transition period and beyond. Sometimes she needs a bit of encouragement and a nudge to get outside her comfort zone. She is more timid and fearful around men (shying away when they come near or walk past), but she can certainly adjust, as she’s shown us in our home. She is a very rewarding dog when she feels she can trust in her caretaker.
