My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peaches is a six-year-old. smooth-coated red doxie from Capstone Kennels in Great Falls, MT. My son named him when he was 5, so that’s why he’s named Peaches, but he is a boy. Peaches is a fun, active, happy dog. Like most dachshunds, he is stubborn, barks for fun, chases squirrels and resists going outside when it’s cold. Peaches uses a dog door to go outside. When it’s cold, he sometimes piddles (never poops) inside because he refuses to go outdoors. To avoid this, I suggest walking him regularly or making sure he has a covered area outside. I would prefer to give him to someone who has had or has a dachshund and understands this behavior, as it’s pretty normal. Peaches has a big dog for a best friend and two cats that he loves but chases for fun. He never nips or bites. He does love sitting in someone’s lap or on the back of the sofa if he’s allowed. If you have ever swatted, hit or yelled at a dog or plan to crate him all day, please don’t adopt Peaches.
