Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee is $75.00 which includes: spay / neuter, combo test for Feline Leukemia / FIV, up-to-date on required vaccinations, micro-chip,de-wormed and flea treated.

Our adoption process starts with a simple application to be filled out that helps us screen for long-term homes and ensure the cat/kitten is a good fit for your family. Our application can be emailed or downloaded from our web-site: www.purrsofhope.org. Once we receive the application it will be reviewed and someone from our organization will contact you within 24 to 48 hours.

We do have a policy that DOES NOT allow De-clawing.

You can view our adoptable cat/kittens by visiting our website: www.purrsofhope.org, Facebook and here at Adopt a Pet. Since our cats are fostered out of our homes, it is best to arrange an appointment to meet and visit with the cat/cats of interest.

Go meet their pets

Our adoptable cat/kittens are posted on our website: www.purrsofhope.org, Facebook and here at Adopt a Pet. Since our cats are fostered out of our homes it is best to arrange an appointment to meet and visit with the cat or cats of interest.

We place some of our adoptable cats in the adoption cages and attend multiple adoption events on weekends at:

Petco (Hammond location)
2440 W. Thomas Street
Hammond, LA. 70401

We can also arrange to have a particular cat/kitten set up there for your convenience.

More about this rescue

Purrs of Hope has a mission to rescue and save homeless cats / kittens that have become strays or unwanted by no choice of their own, We also pull cats from high kill shelters. We provide them with vet care, to improve their health and give them the quality of life and love they deserve; while being fostered until adopted out to their Fur-ever homes.

We are a no-kill organization. Once a pet comes into our foster care it will remain there until adopted or appropriate long term foster is found. All cats/kittens are spayed / neutered, combo tested for feline leukemia/feline aids virus, given age appropriate vaccinations, wormed, and flea treated.

We welcome and encourage volunteers to help with fostering, transporting and care of the cats.

We are here to educating the public on the importance to spay / neuter their animals. We partner with other local non-profit organizations to reach our mission to sterilize cats / kittens by assisting the public and transporting their cats/kittens to low cost spay neuter clinics.

We also participate in TNR of feral cats in our community. TNR humanely manages feral and free roaming cats, while preventing the cats from breeding. They are humanely trapped, spayed/ neutered and vaccinated, then released back to their home or relocated if necessary to reduce their numbers and improve their quality of life .

Our goal is to make a great impact on the over population of cats in our surrounding area.
