My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

APHRODITE is the Goddess of Love.... that's our girl! This sweet natured 10 month old Hound mix has a gentle, submissive spirit to melt your heart. Her soft white fur, adorned with unique black/brown markings, is a testament to her unique charm. She arrived at the shelter with other dogs with whom she coexisted amicably, she is sociable and dog friendly. When showing affection, she is gentle, often leaning in to give tender hugs and nudges. Though the circumstances leading her to the shelter are unknown, it's clear that Aphrodite has a loving soul and will make a devoted companion. Aphrodite is a girl brimming with LOVE and affection, ready to share it with a family who will cherish her.

More about this shelter

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
