Introducing the GREAT GATSBY!!! This energetic young pooch is believed to be a Border Collie mix around 10 months old. He weighs in around 35lbs currently. Gatsby was found as a stray and it’s pretty apparent he hasn’t been taught much in his young life. We have been working on teaching him how to be a dog! Gatsby is learning to interpret social cues from other dogs, have a regimented schedule and diligently stick to a housebreaking routine. He still has a great amount to learn though!!! Gatsby is a very enthusiastic, active young dog. He is also absolutely stunning, sweet & affectionate. He has a whole life ahead of him and he’s hoping to find someone who has the time & dedication to teach him the ways of the dog world.
An ideal environment for Gatsby would be -
🪄 An owner who has a substantial amount of time & dedication to teach Gatsby. He’s a little behind compared to most dogs his age. He will need work on his housebreaking & commands. He will probably not thrive if he’s crated all day long while someone is working.
🪄 Being a Border Collie mix, they are not for everyone. They are a logical breed that require brain enrichment on a daily basis. They are NOT lazy house dogs. They often need a job to keep them thriving. They need an active, sporty type owner who likes training & a certain mindset. We do not have any history of his former setting, but are pretty certain it was lackluster.
🪄 Gatsby is getting along well with other dogs, but if placed would need one to gently teach him. We are not going to lie, he can be annoying, but he’s still a baby. We are unsure of his cat social ability. He loves to play with dogs his age that are not overly corrective. Most adult dogs that want to be left alone, will give him warning and he will listen. He is still learning his social skills.

🚨 On a final note, Gatsby is not an ideal dog for the first time dog owner, senior citizen or family with young children due to his breed. He will require an active owner who has dedication to a sporty type dog!
Gatsby has RECENTLY been neutered. He is current on vaccines including Rabies, DHPP, Lepto & Bordetella. He has been fecal & heartworm tested, also microchipped.
