My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

ISO a foster or forever home for Abby Luna #969. She has been in foster for a few years, but a job change will have her alone for too many hours.

This girl is most likely a St. Bernard mix; we weren’t sure what she was when we took her because she was in terrible condition, missing most of her hair. Luna is 8 years old and weighs 55 pounds. She is sweet with people she knows but takes some time to warm up to strangers especially men. She would be best suited to a young, active family with a fenced yard and a commitment to following through on her training. Though Luna has lived in a home with another dog, she can be a bully and she plays too rough, intimidating the other dog. She has lived with cats, but it takes some time for her to be ok with cats. She also needs work on the leash because she will lunge at other dogs or children on bicycles. Our behaviorist has worked with Luna and feels her issues can be overcome if her adopters are dedicated to her training.

Abby Luna also struggles with allergies and will need regular medicated baths, low allergen food.

If you live in SW or Central Florida and are interested in Luna, please go to www.grrswf.org and fill out an application.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Potential adopters are asked to complete and application form, GRRSWF will perform a vet check followed by a telephone interview with the adopter, we will then set up a home visit in order to make the best possible match between the dog and it's new home. We do not charge any application fees. Adoption donations are on a sliding scale according to the dog's age and medical needs.

Go meet their pets

All of our dogs are placed in loving foster homes who evaluate them while treating them as one of their own family, so we do not have a formal boarding facility. Once you have identified a dog of interest and have submitted an application, then you will be able to schedule a visit to the foster home and the first meeting with your new family member.
