Meet Sadie in Cheshire, CT! This girl is available through no fault of her own. She will either be spayed before adoption or come with the requirement that she be spayed with proof provided to ASF. Sadie is up to date on vaccinations.
Her owners are dealing with a family medical emergency that has them out of state frequently and unfortunately needing to rehome her. She is a sweet, beautiful red merle who is an absolute cuddle bug once she has a few moments to meet you. She knows come and sit, but isn't particularly fond of down (lay). She has no known health issues. She is not recommended for a home with cats, as she has a high prey drive and chases squirrels, birds, and deer. She is good with people of all ages. She plays well with the neighbor dogs, but can be bossy with dogs in her home, preferring all the attention to herself.
She is used to a fenced yard but that is not a requirement if someone is willing to put in the time to leash train her. Sadie is located in Cheshire, and is being fostered by her current owners. Please contact Pam Kazlauskas, the CT rep, for more info. pam.asfct@gmail.com

More about this rescue
Nancy Gonzalez, founder and CEO, created Australian Shepherds Furever (ASF), a non-profit organization to promote the educated adoption and rescue of the Australian Shepherd (Aussie) dog breed.
In July of 2012, ASF initiated as a Facebook page hoping to have 1,000 user "likes" by the end one year. The page quickly outgrew expectations, now with a network of nearly 79,000 individuals striving to provide aid and refuge to Aussies all over the country.
Using the Facebook page as a platform, the website www.australianshepherdsfurever.org was developed as an additional resource aimed at educating the public on this intelligent and beautiful breed. It provides resources for those seeking help, or those willing to contribute to the Adopt, Save, Foster (ASF) philosophy. Through this philosophy, ASF has saved the lives of countless dogs and helped to provide assistance to those that have nowhere else to turn.
We as humans have a responsibility to speak up and take action in favor of those beings that are less fortunate. Thanks to a team of passionate and proactive volunteers, Aussies nationwide are given a chance at a better life through Australian Shepherds Furever.
