My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! I am Muffin! I am the cutest little darling that, with your patience, is ready to steal your heart! I am completely bonded with my brother Bagel and we have to be adopted together. I will take a while to warm up to you, but once I know you are my friend and have loves (and treats like lunch meat!) I want to be your friend. My start to life wasn't the best, but I'm hoping someone can see the potential I have with a lot of love and time! I would do best in a home with no kids or older children who know how to respect a dog's space. A home with no cats is preferred.

Dogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal, applications may take up to 48 hours to complete.

All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Muffin & Bagel's adoption fee together is $325. If you are interested in adopting Muffin & Bagel, or another CAWS animal, please fill out an application here: http://caws.org/adoption-application. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationApril 27, 2024, 8:37 am

Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.

More about this rescue

Founded in 1992 the Community Animal Welfare Society ( CAWS) is one of the oldest no-kill animal rescues in Utah. Over the last 20 years CAWS, our fosters and supporters have saved thousands of lives including over 600 last this year. As the largest foster home network in the state of Utah we focus on high risk pets in need of additional care and rehabilitation
