My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Living at the kennel is new and not very fun for Miss Freckles. She is timid and shy at first but quickly warms up especially if a treat is involved. She is highly trainable, takes treats gently, and motivated by food. She loves toys and will release when asked. Trading toys goes well too. Freckles seems very well mannered and attentive to the people around her. She seems most interested in the humans and cannot wait to cuddle.

Freckles would benefit greatly from confidence building through leadership, positive guidance and praise. She often will look at you to direct her what to do next or to see if you are ok with what she is doing. She is one smart cookie!

If you have a well socialized dog in your home, we can have a meet and greet and see how the dogs do together. In general, Freckles prefers meeting dogs that have a calmer and slower approach rather than an in your face and bouncy approach.

Freckles is some sort of mixed breed. There might be some staffy, terrier, lab, boxer, and who knows what other breeds could be in her mix. She weighs in at 50 lbs and is around 3 years old. Freckles is looking for a home in which any children are over the age of 13 years old.

If you are interested in Freckles and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend!

*Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.**
