This sweet girl is Tagalong, and she needs a hero! She was born at PAWS shelter in 2021 as a healthy and adorable puppy. Unfortunately, she was stolen from us and went missing for almost three years. During that time she experienced Masticatory Myositis, which is an inflammatory condition that affects the chewing muscles. It is completely treatable in the early stages, but tragically, young Tagalong did not receive any medical care. As a result, she has some permanent muscle loss in her face, which gives it a bony appearance. Thankfully, this doesn't seem to bother her at all, and she is otherwise a perfectly normal, happy, and healthy young pup.
Despite her rough beginning, Tagalong is the absolute embodiment of affection and love. She adores people so much, her entire body wiggles with joy when she sees her human friends. She recently spent time in a foster home, where she lived on a farm with children, horses and several other dogs. Her foster mom shared these wonderful notes with us:
"Tagalong is such a sweetheart! She was timid when we first brought her home, but after a few hours she settled right in. She enjoys being part of a family and she loves to be close to us (she is actually laying on my feet while I type this). Tags has very nice house manners, she is 100% potty trained, and she knows how to "come" and "sit." She is a total snuggle bug who crawls into our laps and begs for belly rubs. She is also very playful and LOVES to fetch! She gets along well with our other dogs, including her two PAWS foster sisters- Brynlee and Ginger. They all play very nicely and they enjoy patrolling the farm together. We notice that she does have some stranger-danger with new people, and she appreciates gentle introductions. A really nice thing about Tagalong is she has excellent recall and stays close to us, even when off-leash in open terrain. She's also great around our livestock and horses, she would make an excellent farm dog. Overall, Tags is just an easy-going and happy girl, and we love her!"
Tagalong is such an inspiring pup, and she is a true testament to strength and resilience. We are committed to helping her find a loving adopter who will appreciate how special she is. Tagalong will be a delightful addition to any family, and she promises to be a devoted friend for life. Come meet this sweet girl, and see for yourself how beautiful she really is!
