My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DHARMA is a pure bred , Female , Weimaraner . She is 3 years old, and new in foster, she is a beauty, and a sweet dog. She is doing fine with the other dogs and cats here.
We will update her profile as we get to know her better! Her name is taken from the Buddhist religion, and I chose it, hoping that with her new name we will be able to give this girl a new life.
"Dharma" means "protection". All the problems we experience during daily life originate in ignorance, and the method for eliminating ignorance is to practice Dharma.

for INFO on this breed ; see her on our web site home page.

Adoption fee $250.00 with approved application. She is spayed, housetrained, up to date with all shots , HW neg. current on wormings, and micro chipped. Has basic obedience skills, and is being taught more complex skills. FULLY fenced yard REQUIRED, MIN of 4 FT. high. NO E fences ! Dharma will not be available to adopters with any children UNDER the age of 12.

Dharma is a true gray/silver. NOT salt & pepper OR BLUE!

UPDATE ON DHARMA ..MAR 27, 2006:

DHARMA is doing well here in foster, she is still a bit nervous, and seems to prefer women to men so far. She shows fear of men in general, including teen age boys.( up date she is doing better with men & boys! ) As she starts to relax we will start doing more socialization with her with men & boys. She is much more trusting of women & girls thus far. She is fine with all the dogs in this foster home, both male & female . she is learning how to play and be a dog.

Dharma is very needy, as far as clinging to me, this MAY be due to her being in a new place , and fear, and it MAY change - as it did in Asta ( below) , but as of now - she is a real Velcro dog, and follows me literally EVERYWHERE. She will not even go out in the yard to potty without me going with her. She shows fear of crates, and is NOT being crated or crate trained at this time. She is sleeping in my room ( in my bed ! with me right now.) She is housebroken, but- it took her a week to show that- at first she was overwhelmed with fear of being here, as she had many new things to adjust to, - dogs- both male & female adult & pups!) cats, kids, birds... it has been scary for her, but she is starting to show improvement now- I have high hopes for her, and think that she may always be a Velcro dog, but she will learn that not all humans are bad , and she will learn to trust more, thusly she will become more self assured and confident. I expect to see her true personality soon, as she is starting to adjust now, which is faster that I thought it would take her.

We will continue to work with her on her fear issues,( her fear issues are showing MARKED improvement , and she is acting a bit more self confident) will are start ing her socialization on a broader basis NOW

Dharma has great potential, and we are sure that soon she will be a GREAT addition to the right family. Dharma will require a fully fenced yard, a MIN of 4 ft high. NO E fences will be accepted. Will update on her progress as she adjusts .

Dharma is not READY to have a new home yet, but WE ARE accepting applications for her now, and approved applicants will be allowed to meet her.

Please read the links about this breed of dog before you apply , just to be sure this is the type of dog you think will fit in your family. Weims, are wonderful dogs, but like all breeds - they are not for everyone.
