My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Koda is a fun loving goofball of a 4 year old German shepherd husky mix. His favorite things to do is play tug of war with his ropes and make you wait out side in the freezing cold while he relaxes and takes in all the cold weather. When he's not playing he loves to cuddle up and watch tv with you and when it's time for bed, best be sure he is going to steel one of blankets to curl up in bed with you. Koda has one of the biggest personality's a dog could have and if he wants your attention he will be sure to use that typical husky talk to be heard. Koda started life off on the rough side when I had saved him as a pup, he was deathly sick and had been bullied away from his food. The vet told me he may not make it but he pulled through and is healthy and stronger than ever and has been my little buddy ever since. It pains me to see him go away but due to unforeseen circumstances in my life I can no longer care for Koda. and just want to make sure he goes to loving caring home. At first he may be standoffish and not really wanting to be pet but just give him some time to warm up to you and once he dose I know he will give you all the love in the world.

More about this rescue

Stray Haven provides homes, as foster space allows, for dogs and puppies. We primarily focus on pulling dogs and puppies from independent rescuers who have little resources to secure the vetting and homes that these precious babies so desperately need. Some counties in rural areas don't have access to a county run shelter or facility and these independent rescuers are breaking their backs trying to make sure that dogs aren't starving or freezing after abandonment.

In addition to taking in these dogs and puppies, our outreach continues to help independent rescuers by providing education, exposure for the animals in their care and donations when possible to support their cause.
