Meet Schatzi! She is an 9 year old Miniature American Shepherd and weighs 25 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, but isn’t up to date on shots or on heartworm prevention. Schatzi is good with older children! She hasn’t been tested around cats. No dogs or younger children, due to her reactivity!
Schatzi bit the owner’s 4 year old niece while on a family trip 6 years ago. She is has trouble with some dog foods and is currently on Ultamino, which is a prescription food from Royal Canin. The owner is surrendering her because she doesn’t do well with their young child. She needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible!
If you think you can provide a great home for Schatzi, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Schatzi.
Owner’s Contact Information: Morgan Kay at (646) 708-3952 or morgankay80@gmail.com.

More about this rescue
Nancy Gonzalez, founder and CEO, created Australian Shepherds Furever (ASF), a non-profit organization to promote the educated adoption and rescue of the Australian Shepherd (Aussie) dog breed.
In July of 2012, ASF initiated as a Facebook page hoping to have 1,000 user "likes" by the end one year. The page quickly outgrew expectations, now with a network of nearly 27,000 individuals striving to provide aid and refuge to Aussies all over the country.
Using the Facebook page as a platform, the website www.australianshepherdsfurever.org was developed as an additional resource aimed at educating the public on this intelligent and beautiful breed. It provides resources for those seeking help, or those willing to contribute to the Adopt, Save, Foster (ASF) philosophy. Through this philosophy, ASF has saved the lives of countless dogs and helped to provide assistance to those that have nowhere else to turn.
We as humans have a responsibility to speak up and take action in favor of those beings that are less fortunate. Thanks to a team of passionate and proactive volunteers, Aussies nationwide are given a chance at a better life through Australian Shepherds Furever.
